It’s already August, which means September will come and go super fast, and the next thing you know it it’ll be October and the AHS fandom will officially commence. We’ve put together what’s been leaked and officially released so far, and have included some handy dandy fan art to make us all extra excited.

At Comic-Con, Ryan Murphy revealed that the story takes place in 1952 during one of the final Freak Shows to ever happen in the U.S. We also found out who would be playing the freaky characters of the fourth season. Sarah Paulson will play conjoined twins Bette and Dot.

Jessica Lange will play Elsa Mars, a German ring master – a role which is sure to be one her most badass thus far. Angela Bassett will also be back playing the role of Desiree Dupre, spouse of Wendell del Tolito (played by Michael Chiklis). Evan Peters will play Jimmy Darling, Chiklis’ son, and his real life girlfriend, Emma Roberts, will play someone named Maggie. We’re expecting more of the hilarious AHS Coven tension/conflict between Angela Bassett’s character and Kathy Bates’ character, since Kathy Bates will play the ex-wife of Chiklis. What we’re really bummed out about though is that neither Lily Rabe or Taissa Farmiga will be back for the new season, which is a big shame because they were both fantastic in the previous seasons of the show. American Horror Story Freak Show poster fan art

There will also be some newcomers to the series. The most talked about has been one of the horrifying villains, played by John Carroll Lynch, who you may remember as serial killer Arthur Leigh Allen in 2007’s “Zodiac.” There are rumors flying around that he will play the role of a serial killer clown. Could there be anything more terrifying? AHS Freak Show Clown poster fan artKarl Pfeiffer is the creator of these fantastic posters. You can see more of them here.

We can only imagine how nightmare-inducing the latest season will be. Kathy Bates even admitted that after filming a scene from Freak Show, she couldn’t sleep all night and that Ryan Murphy “scares the sh*t out of [her]”. At least for us, this is nothing but awesome news.

What do you think of these new characters? Are you bummed that we won’t be able to see our old favorites? Let us know in the comments!
